Printed Matter pleased to present a commissioned window installation Golden Mouse by artist Pixy Liao. In Pixy’s work, provoking and absurd subject matter is broached, delicately and skillfully, with seductive colors and compositions. Simultaneously naughty and innocent, her work invites you to reexamine the hierarchy between male and female, private and public, the mundane and the monumental. For Printed Matter’s Window Series, Pixy will showcase her most recent experiment with large-format Risograph printing. The prints were produced during her residency at SVA RisoLAB.

A limited editioned risograph print will be for purchase at Printed Matter at the same time.

About the Printed Matter Window Series
Throughout Printed Matter’s history, storefront windows have served as the face of the organization, providing artists with the opportunity to produce and display site-specific works. When founding member Lucy Lippard was first presented with 2 large windows at the Lispenard Street location in 1976, she decided to launch a highly visible installation program as a form of public art. Her long-running series featured early career exhibitions by artists including Jenny Holzer, Barbara Kruger, Antoni Muntadas, and Richard Prince.
